I. Education: University studies: Faculty of Horticulture Cluj-Napoca. PhD studies: PhD in horticulture, specialization “Genetics and plant breeding”, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UASVM) Cluj-Napoca. Specialization: Master “Biodiversity and Bio-conservation”.

II. Academic and research experience: Researcher at Fruit Research Station Cluj (ACS, 2006-2008; CS, 2008-2010; CS III, 2010-2012), scientific secretary FRS Cluj (2010-2012); lecturer (2012-present) at UASVM Cluj-Napoca.

III. Research domains of interest: Creating new varieties of horticultural species (apple and pear); Collection, maintenance and study of horticultural species; Conservation of plant genetic resources; Genotype and ecotype interaction. Member of professional societies and associations: Romanian Friends of Roses Association, 1994 (member); Horticulture and Forestry Society from Transylvania – SHST, secretary – 2009; Eucarpia – „European Association for Research on Plant Breeding”, member, 2006; ISHS – “International Society for Horticultural Science”, member 2006.

IV. Significant achievements: Books and scientific papers: Author or coauthor of over 60 scientific papers published in specialized journals indexed in academic databases.

Research grants: Grants responsible: Countering the risk of genetic erosion due to hereditary dowry narrowing of apple and pear cultivars and avoiding their vulnerability to stress by increasing the action of agents genetic diversity, Partnerships; Creating hybrid populations to prevent genetic erosion and broaden the base of choice for new varieties of pear, sustainable for farming systems, Partnerships. The collection, maintenance and use of the local genetic biodiversity to develop integrated strategies useful for improvement programs of the fruit tree species ADER 1.1.8; Research on the structure of hybrid populations of heredity characteristics and genetic determinism of the fruit tree species ADER 3.2.1; Management of fruit genetic resources in situ and ex situ ADER 3.1.2. Member: Monitoring the impact of agriculture on global climate change, management of soil, water and carbon by conservative systems: minimum tillage and no-tillage in Transylvania Plain, PN II. Study of pathogen-host-agent relationship for the purposes of limitation of transmission and preventive measures to limit damage from viruses and similar bodies, PN II. Implementation of modern design concepts and solutions, landscaping and green spaces rehabilitation and restoration of degraded lands to conserve natural biodiversity, impact on reducing environmental pollution in accordance with EU norms and standards.

Brevets: Co-author of the new pome trees cultivars, created at FRS Cluj-Napoca and homologated by ISTIS: pear cultivars ‘Arvena’ (2007); ‘Meda’ (2009); ‘Latina’ (2009); ‘Transilvania’ (2010); ‘Primadona’ (2010); ‘Adria’ (2010); apple cultivars: ‘Silvan’ (2010); ‘Someşan’ (2010); ‘Stefano’ (2010).
